How-To Tuesday: I wear my sunglasses at night

With spring officially in full swing it's time to talk about sunglasses!

The Ultimate Guide to Sunglasses

Face Shape

Heart

A heart-shaped face like Reese Witherspoon's has a wide top and tapers down to a narrow chin. Hearts look glamourous in frames that are narrower on top and wider toward the bottom. Light or Rimless.

Round

A round face like Kirsten Dunst has the same measurements in both the length and width. A round face looks great in angular, narrow frames like rectangles or geometric shapes.

Diamond

A diamond-shaped face like Jennifer Aniston's has high cheekbones and is narrow at the eye line and jawline. A diamond looks gorgeous in square or rimless frames because the frames balance out the widest and narrowest parts of the face.

Oblong

An oblong face such as Sarah Jessica Parker's is longer than it is wide, and looks best in frames that are deep from top to bottom or have decorative temple details. Temple details draw the eye to the middle of the head where the ears are as a result this breaks up the length.

Oval

An oval face like Gwyneth Paltrow is perfectly symmetrical. It looks great in almost any style, but wraparounds often look most modern. (LUCKY!)

Rectangle

A rectangle face such as Sandra Bullocks has a broad forehead and a very strong jawline. Squares look wonderful in narrow frames like ovals, rounds, or sassy cat-eye styles.

Triangle

A triangle-shaped face like Billie Piper's features a narrow forehead that gets wider at the cheeks and chin. Aviator frames will create balance!

Hair Color

When picking out sunglasses not only is choosing sunglasses that match your face shape important, but picking a color to contrast your hair is important as well!

Very dark brown or black hair
looks chic with white or metallic frames because of the contrast. For the more conservative, simply pick bold, black frames.

Mid-tone brunettes look great in marble brown frames since all these colors are in their hair already. However, there's nothing more sassy than white glasses on mid-tone brunettes.

Chestnut (lighter) brunettes look great in caramel frames.

Ashy blondes look fab in frames that blend with cold tones like blue, silver or gray. Want the "pop" factor try red or yellow frames!

Very light blondes look beautiful in red frames, but safe choices are black or white as they are timeless and colorless.

Strawberry blondes and Redheads
look glorious in green shades. It creates a really intense and sassy look! For a less standout look, gold or brown works too.

Auburns look beautiful in woodsy colors like burgundy and chocolate. You want to avoid red!
