{Patriotic Jell-O Cake}



Patriotic Jell-O Cake

Ingredients:
1 large package red Jell-O
12 oz pound cake, sliced into 10 pieces
1.5 c. blueberries
4 c. fresh strawberries, halved
1.5 cups boiling water
Ice cubes
Cold water
8 oz cool whip

Preparation:
Combine the Jello and boiling water and stir until dissolved. Add enough ice to the water to make 2 cups and pour this into the Jell-O mixture. Stir until the ice melts then refrigerate until thickened.

Line the bottom of a 13 x 9 inch dish with sliced pound cake. Slice one cup of the strawberries and add these, along with a cup of the blueberries, to the Jell-O and stir. Spoon this mixture over the cake.

Chill for 4 hours or until firm, then spread the cool whip over the Jell-O. Arrange the blueberries on top for stars and the strawberry halves on top to make the stripes.

This will keep in the refrigerator for a few days.
