The Price of Beauty: Mumbai

On this episode of "The Price of Beauty" the trio (Jessica, Ken and Cacee) travel to Mumbai.. India.

When they first arrive they go and check out Bollywood. Bollywood is the largest film producer in India and one of the largest centers of film production in the world. When they walked into Bollywood they saw Indian dances in elaborate costumes. Bollywood's song and dance sequence represents a fantasy world of heightened color and beauty. The trio even got to do some Bollywood dancing which consisted of intricate foot work, and hips moving better then Ricky Martins bon-bon.

After that they were going to go visit a Yoga Guru, but this is not the downward dog Yoga that we have become familiar with. They were becoming transformed into "Laughter Yogis". Laughter Yoga is to strengthen the spirit while traditional Yoga stretches the body. You hold up your hand in front of you as though it was a mirror and you just begin to laugh. Laughter is a great way to relieve stress and Laughter Yoga allows you to feel free and beautiful.

Of course the fab trio had to go to a spa. This is not a spa that any of us are use to, and honesty it reminded me of witch doctors. The spa was an Ayurveda spa which means the science of life and longevity. It is an ancient form of alternative medicine. First they put these cylinders on top of Cacee, Ken and Jessica's head and then they pour hot oil onto the head. This was meant to be a conditioning treatment for the hair. Next they were to try out "The Neti Pot", which is basically you use the pot to put water through one nostril, and it comes out of the other one. This is suppose to clear sinuses. The "Neti Pot" is also used to get rid of black circles under the eyes. Lastly they gave the trio Ayurveda tea, which is a digestive tea that helps to cleanse the system and aids in digestion. The trio started to burp these LOUD intense burps which is a natural side effect of the tea! Personally I am a lady and would probably have a heart attack if I heard something like that come out of me.

Lastly they were invited to a Bollywood party, of course they had to transform to fit the Bollywood scene. They got Henna tattoos which will last up to three weeks. Usually you get a Henna tattoo that will represent you. A Bindi is traditionally worn on the forehead to show material status, now it's a fashion statement. (This is the creative thing found on their head)

Who what's beauty in India? India is a spiritual place. People are comfortable with themselves which allows them to be able to wear bright colors and flashy jewels! Beauty is a collection of your history and who you are.
