Beauty and the Bacteria

I recently heard about a study that was done on makeup testers found in malls and beauty stores. More likely than not they are tainted with a variety of illnesses including herpes, staph and even E. Coli! While you may practice good hygiene many people actually don't. They're probably the people you see double dipping into the chip dip at parties!

When you think of E. Coli you should think of feces. That means that someone went to the bathroom... didn't wash their hands and then stuck them into that moisturizer you are now slathering onto your face.

Here are some of my tips for keeping you clean when sampling makeup.

Please note that these tips will reduce the chance of you getting some sort of infection. the safest thing is to avoid testing makeup.

• Clean the surface of the makeup tester with a tissue dipped in alcohol.
• Use sample products that don't require finger dipping.
• Squeeze bottles are always better than jars
• Always go for disposable applicators
• NEVER use the mascara

What do you think about this? Do you use the samples on the makeup counter?
